What is LPG?
Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG, from the English liquefied petroleum gas) is a transparent, non-toxic and odorless liquid.
LPG is obtained from compressing a mixture of hydrocarbons, mainly butane and propane and represents a readily available fuel with high energy and calorific yield.
What are the benefits of LPG?
- It takes up much less space than methane and is easily transportable
- Ideal alternative to methane for small and medium combustion needs (heating and kitchen use)
- Alternative to petrol for cars. In Italy, there are more than 3,400,000 LPG vehicles
